After competing in the 3000 meters the past couple of weeks, Akerley stepped down to run the one mile event on Sunday at Cornell University. In the event, he set a personal best time 4:17.98, which was a full two seconds ahead of the runner-up from Cornell.

Akerley’s time in the event also was the fourth fastest time in program history. Akerley is currently sitting in the fourth spot in the SUNYAC for the event while being in the No. 2 spot in the 3000.
