Bethel captured the title in the heavyweight division at Saturday’s Empire Collegiate Wrestling Conference tournament to help the Red Dragons finish third overall. His performance during the competition earned him the Co-Outstanding Wrestler Award. It was the second time of his career that he won the title.

Bethel’s efforts on Saturday produced a 4-0 day including three wins via pinfall. His second win of the day was also the 100th of his collegiate career.

Bethel is currently 19-2 overall this season with 10 pins.
