SUNY Oneonta Athletics

Bethel captured the NCAA Northeast Regional title at 285 lbs. on Sunday after posting a perfect 4-0 record.  His title helped Oneonta finish in fifth place overall out of 19 competing schools.

Bethel was the top seed in his weight class with a 39-2 record entering the two-day event. Bethel opened competition on Saturday with a pin against Lucien Cascino of Trinity.  His final three wins were all by decision including a 6-1 win against Jake O’Brien of Ithaca in the championship bout.  Bethel’s victory qualified him for the NCAA Division III Championships and a slot on the All-Region team.
