Obzud helped the wrestling team to an 11th place finish at the NYS Collegiate Championships hosted by Cornell University which featured Division I, II and III wrestlers. The team finished with 30.5. points.

Chad finished 6th in the 197 lb. weight class going 3-3 during the weekend. In the opening match, he defeated Matthew Sowers of Alfred State by fall at the 2:46 mark. Obzud lost 15-7 in the next match to Division I athlete Cody Reed from Binghamton University. Chad would rattle off two consecutive wins to put him in the 5th/6th place bracket.

Obzud earned All-Region honors with his 6th place finish.
