Brandt opened the 2013 outdoor track season in style setting two individual meet records and a relay meet record at the DIII Commonwealth Duals hosted by Lynchburg College. The team finished 3-1 on the weekend defeating Bridgewater, Eastern Menonite and Mary Washington.

Kaitlyn took first in the 100m and 200m dashes in personal best times of 12.47 and 25.98, respectively. She was also a member of the 4 x 100m relay team, running the second leg, that also set a meet record in a time of 49.73.
